To Prospective Students

Global Studies for Inter-Cultural Cooperation(GICC) is a new interdisciplinary program for seeking fair solution to various tasks in a globalizing world. The program covers three interrelated themes: 1) Area Studies; 2) Cross-Cultural Communication; 3) International Relations and Cooperation. We provide a wide variety of courses with new perspectives which give students original insights, field experiences and communication skills for inter-cultural cooperation.

Students who would like to study in the Global Studies for GICC. Program should affiliate with one of four divisions (Liberal Arts and Humanities, Language and Culture, Human and Social Sciences and Performing Arts) of the Faculty of Letters and Education. After one year, students are choosing any one of those departments within their division or inter-divisional program of GICC.

Two options are offered for students to study in GICC; ones take the program as their major or the others take it as their minor. Students who major in GICC are required completion of 40 or more course credits (with graduation research compulsory) in the program. Twenty or more credits must be completed for a minor curriculum. The students majoring GICC are required more than 20 course credits in one of those departments in their affiliated divisions. Any students in the other two Faculties; Faculty of Science and Faculty of Human Life and Environmental Sciences can join GICC program as their minor.
